Goodbye, Tech Adventures: Wrapping Up a Journey Through Innovative Teaching.

Hello, my dear readers! Now that the semester has come to an end, it’s time to say farewell to this incredible journey we’ve shared. Together, we explored the exciting possibilities of technology in education and embraced new ways to enhance teaching and learning. This term has been an inspiring and rewarding experience, both personally and professionally.

Let’s take a moment to look back at all the exciting things we’ve accomplished together.

We started with a corpus-based handout, where we focused on helping students understand words in their real meanings.

Next, we dove into the flipped approach, where I created an instructional video for students to learn independently before class, making in-class time more interactive.

Then, we took things to the next level with an AR-VR Paris tour, where students explored the city through QR codes and scanners, offering a truly immersive learning experience.

Finally, we wrapped up the semester with an AI superhero creation activity, allowing students to design their own superheroes with unique abilities using ChatGPT.

I found the flipped approach task to be the most enjoyable, as preparing the instructional video was both creative and rewarding. However, I struggled with the corpus-based task, as explaining the concept of corpus usage was quite difficult for me.

One suggestion for improving the course would be to incorporate more in-class activities using school computers. This would make the experience even more interactive and allow students to engage with the technologies more effectively.

To students taking this course next year, I would say that it’s a fantastic opportunity to explore new teaching methods that can significantly enhance your teaching practices.

Overall, the course has contributed greatly to my professional development, and I’m excited to apply these new skills in future classrooms. I’ve enjoyed every part of it, and I believe it will help me become a more innovative and effective teacher.
